Our "local" ski resort is called Sol y Nieve (Sun and Snow) located at about 2000 meters altitude, in the Sierra Nevada mountain range in Granada.
Our latest visit was in January 2010. We left Loma la Parra at 6 in the morning and we were on piste and skiing by 10 am.
It was a glorious sunny day with fantastic snow cover and we were able to ski from near the top of Veleta at over 3,000 meters, all the way to the resort, more than 1,000 meters below.
